This place is for fun. It is meant to be light hearted and tongue-in-cheek. While the great issues of religion and politics are matters of utmost concern, we respectfully request that you take debates over more serious matters to other sites built to handle those types of discussions. Please come in, post your examples of atrocious taste in art, dress, design, etc, for us all to enjoy, but please keep your "victims" anonymous and your critiques light hearted! You may, of course, make a fool of yourself. There is not stopping you on that account!

Mistreating others, however, is tacky. Therefore, personal attacks of any kind are not allowed. Racial, ethnic, and religious slurs are tacky and will get you banned. Yes, you may comment on styles of dress or tacky things people do, but we respectfully request that you DO NOT, unless you have express written permission, identify them, use close ups, or name them. Remember, it is tacky to use a public forum to get even with or embarrass your neighbors.

Celebrities however, are fair game, as long as you do not use copyrighted photos. Celebrities' behavior may be worthy of comment - like Brittany Spears' choice of underwear - so, rather than attack your neighbors here, try to make fun of people whom you don't know! However, speaking of Brittany Spears... pornography is tacky and will get you banned. No pornography or sexually explicit material or subject matter is allowed. This is a family friendly site.

Spamming is tacky. You may not use your membership to spam others. That is SO tacky, it almost needs no comment, but as we say, "there is no accounting for taste or good sense." Spamming will get you banned. So will harassment of other members. Don't be a doofus.

From a legal standpoint, only upload images for which you have permission, hold the copyright, or which you have taken yourself.

The Tacky Police are not responsible for your legal troubles. This is an open forum. We rely upon the reporting by our members to make us aware of violations of policy or tacky behavior on this site. Please do let us know.

These are some guidelines to follow when using our forums. Remember, these will eventually be moderated forums, and we have the final word on any content posted.

  • We may edit or completely remove postings that do not comply with our guidelines.
  • Do not post the same question/comment more than once: double posts will be removed;
  • Commercial posts are not allowed nor are posts which can be deemed as advertising - for that you should contact us to arrange for advertising options and rates
  • No links to auctions are allowed;
  • Posts linking to commercial sites without merit (i.e. a full review or unrelated to the forum) will be removed;
  • Please search the forum before posting - you'll find lots of answers here;
  • Trolling is not welcome;
  • Unlock codes should not be posted;
  • Do not SHOUT. Do not post subject in ALL CAPITALS;
  • Be considerate and use standard English, do not use SMS abbreviations, this will help everyone understand your message.
  • Do not post ad blocks for any network. These will be removed and the poster banned immediately;
  • If you don't agree with someone's post, attack the idea, not the poster.

    Posts will be removed and the user may be banned if:
    • the post promotes illicit material;
    • the post contains copyrighted material not property of the author;
    • the post is simply for URL dropping;
    • the post is one of multiple copies in different forums;
    • the post contains profanity and/or adult material;
    • the post links to profanity and/or adult material;
    • the post promotes pyramid schemes or affiliate programs;
    • the post contains abuse of other users;
    • the post contains confidential information or information subject to NDA or other agreements;
    • Godwin's Law is invoked.
    • the post can be considered libel.

    All IP addresses are recorded (not shown) and will allow us to track fake posts if necessary.

    Administrators and Moderators can and will delete or edit posts if these fall out of these guidelines. In some situations the poster may be contacted in private via PM. If the behaviour persists the poster can be locked out of the forums. This ban is for an unlimited time.

    Users posting in our forums agree to these terms.
